Bengal Warriorz have now lost five consecutive matches in PKL 11.
Puneri Paltan delivered a dominant performance in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11), overpowering Bengal Warriorz 51-34 in Match 73 at the Noida Indoor Stadium.
Speaking to the media, Puneri’s captain Pankaj and coach followed by Bengal’s captain Fazel and Coach shared their views after the PKL 11 match.
Puneri Paltan’s raiding trio of Mohit Goyat, Akash Shinde, and skipper Pankaj Mohite starred, inflicting four ALL OUTs on their hapless opponents to climb to third in the PKL 11 points table.
“Everybody knows we should be doing something to make our team win. But everyone is playing on their own, we are not playing as a team, our team play is not very good, ” said captain Fazel Atrachali.
“Our problem is not with confidence, our problem is teamwork. We are not playing as per the plan that we are coming up with, so we need to work on that,” Fazel added.
On Maninder Singh’s return
After a brief initial setback, Puneri Paltan’s raiders took control, securing a seven-point lead within 10 minutes and inflicting the first ALL OUT on Bengal Warriorz. Defensive errors plagued the Warriorz, who suffered a second ALL OUT before halftime, trailing 24-11. Bengal were without star Maninder Singh yet again which added to their woes.
“Maninder has been injured, so we rested him but he will play the next match for sure, ” said the Bengal coach.
On PKL 11 heating up
The second half was equally one-sided, with Pankaj Mohite delivering a stunning Super Raid to lead the charge. Mohit’s impeccable defensive effort inflicted a third ALL OUT, widening the gap.
Although Nitin Kumar’s Super 10 and a rare Super Tackle brought brief respite for Bengal Warriorz, a fourth ALL OUT sealed their fate as Puneri Paltan cruised to a 17-point victory in this PKL 11 clash.
“Every match from now on is important, some seven-eight teams are in a close fight with one another for the title, so we cannot take any match lightly, ” Puneri Paltan’s coach concluded.
