Haryana Steelers will lift trophy in PKL 11, says coach Manpreet Singh
Haryana Steelers extended their lead at the top of the PKL 11 points table.
Season 10 runners up, Haryana Steelers delivered a commanding performance in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11), defeating defending champions Puneri Paltan 38-28 at the Noida Indoor Stadium.
Speaking to the media, Haryana Steelers coach Manpreet Singh and captain Jaideep Dahiya, followed by Puneri Paltan coach, and captain Pankaj Mohite shared their thoughts on the PKL 11 match.

The Steelers came out firing, racing to a 5-0 lead within minutes, thanks to a strong collaboration between their defenders and raiders. An early all-out by Jaideep gave them an 8-point advantage and set the tone for the game.
On Shivam and Vinay’s performance
Shivam Patare and Vinay were relentless in attack, helping Haryana maintain control throughout the first half. By halftime, Patare had already scored 8 points, and the table-topping Haryana Steelers led 22-14.
“Shivam played really well. It feels so good to see players like him who have been blessed with so much talent at such a young age. Looks like the future of Indian Kabaddi is in safe hands.”
“Vinay is one of the most important players of our campaign, all I can say is that if Vinay is fit the entire season, Haryana Steelers will lift the trophy, ” he added.
On hopes of winning the PKL 11 title
The second half saw the Steelers continue their dominance, with Patare and Vinay adding to their lead, while Mohammadreza Shadloui contributed vital points.
“The raid that Shadloui did, it turned out really lucky for us. He had the same against U Mumba too. We often say that the god is with us and right now it feels like even the god is with Haryana Steelers and want us to win,” concluded Manpreet Singh.
On Pankaj Mohite’s impact and performance
Despite the efforts of Puneri Paltan raiders Pankaj Mohite and Akash Shinde, the Haryana defence, led by Jaideep, stood firm.
“Pankaj is doing his best as a player and a captain. But a player needs a lot of support, which the other players of the team are only being able to give their half. But I am hoping in the coming matches this will get better and the players alongside Pankaj will perform even better,” said Puneri Paltan‘s coach.
Patare completed his Super 10 in the final phase, and though Mohite did the same for Puneri, the defending champions struggled defensively. The Haryana Steelers held their ground and walked away with a 10-point win, avenging their earlier loss to Puneri Paltan in PKL 11. This win solidified their position at the top of the points table.
