On the road ahead for Dabang Delhi in PKL 11
The victory, led by Naveen Kumar’s spectacular performance with 11 raid points, marked his second Super 10 of PKL 11 and propelled Delhi to second place on the points table as they head to Pune.
“Honestly we are not thinking about playoff or anything yet. Our thing is to play kabaddi. Whether we end at number 2, 6 or 10, I am not thinking about that right now. We are here to play kabaddi and then we will see what happens, ” said Dabang Delhi coach.
On Tamil Thalaivas’ continuous poor performance
The match began as a closely fought contest, with both teams exchanging blows in the early minutes. Tamil Thalaivas took the initial lead through Ranjith Chandran’s swift defensive efforts, but Naveen Kumar soon showcased his brilliance, keeping the Delhi side competitive. The first half ended in a 12-12 stalemate, setting up an electrifying second half in this PKL 11 showdown.
“We have been losing the matches in the last moments after going neck-to-neck the entire time. This is all because of inexperience, ” said Thamil Thalaivas coach.
On underperforming raiders
The turning point came in the final 10 minutes when Naveen executed a breathtaking Super Raid, earning four points and decimating the Thalaivas’ lineup. With Rahul inflicting an ALL OUT and Ashu Malik adding crucial points, Dabang Delhi sealed a commanding victory. Despite Moein Shafaghi’s valiant efforts for the Thalaivas, the lack of team support left them trailing.
“Our main problem is that our raiding unit is not working. Sachin Tanwar is out of form. Narender Kandola is injured. Hence our team is going through a lot of problems,” he added.
On the route ahead in PKL 11
They will now go on to Pune for the final leg of the PKL 11, hoping to turn their campaign around.
“Going to Pune we have to make sure we do not lose matches because of small mistakes. We have to get our raiders back in form and win the matches in Pune,” he concluded.
