On Gagan Gowda’s performance

Despite trailing 17-10 at halftime, UP Yoddhas turned the game on its head with a dominant performance in the second half, spearheaded by Gagan Gowda, who scored an impressive 15 points. Bhavani Rajput also contributed with six crucial points to secure the victory.

“Not just today, but Gagan had been playing really well for some time now, he played very well today too, ” said UP Yoddhas coach.

On Surender Gill’s form

The first half belonged to Telugu Titans, who capitalized on a strong defensive display and quick raids from Vijay Malik and Ashish Narwal.

“Surender Gill was out for a long time, it takes some time to get back to form. So I am hoping that in the seven matches that are left for the league stage, he will make a good comeback in that, ” added the coach.

On the road ahead for UP Yoddhas

However, the Yoddhas struggled to breach the Titans’ defence, heading into the break seven points behind. The momentum shifted in the second half of this PKL 11 clash as Gagan Gowda’s swift raids fueled an early All-Out on the Titans, helping UP Yoddhas storm into the lead.

“We have seven matches left now in PKL 11, but we have to win at least six of them to stay in contention, ” said UP Yoddhas captain Sumit Sangwan.

On Pawan Sehrawat’s injury and return

Their early dominance included an All-Out on the UP Yoddhas in the eighth minute, giving them a six-point cushion. However, the absence of captain and star raider Pawan Sehrawat was largely felt as Telugu Titans struggled to get points. The outfit has been without Pawan for five consecutive matches now.

“Pawan still has an injury, but his recovery is going on. The doctor will have to look and check again before we can give any update on his return, ” said the Telugu Titans assistant coach.

On Manjeet’s injury

Although Manjeet’s sensational six-point raid momentarily revived the Telugu Titans, the Yoddhas held their nerve. But the stellar raid left the star injured and had to be substituted.

“We don’t have any update on Manjeet’s injury yet, have to check and then only I can give any update, ” said the Telugu Titans assistant coach.

On the road ahead

In the final moments, decisive errors from the Titans handed the Yoddhas a well-earned win, keeping their PKL 11 campaign alive.

“Every match is tough, that is what I think and that is how we prepare for the matches. We take all the opponents and matches tightly, ” said captain Vijay Malik.

“There is no pressure, but we don’t know how a match will turn out to be, so we will try to get out of the tough situations, ” concluded Vijay Malik.
