On Maninder Singh’s performance
Mighty Maninder was the star of the show, scoring 11 points, while Mayur Kadam registered a High-5, and Pranay Rane contributed 6 crucial points. Despite Vinay’s valiant Super 10 for the Steelers, the Warriorz secured a morale-boosting victory to kick off their Pune leg in style.
“Maninder is the backbone of the Bengal Warriorz, if he plays well, the match is easy for us. There are lots of players who take points, but Maninder is legendary. Every time the match is close for us, he takes one point and changes the game for us,” said Fazel Atrachali.
Maninder on scoring 1500 raid points
The first half saw both teams start cautiously, but Haryana Steelers gained an early 4-point lead thanks to Shivam Patare’s heroics. Vinay’s Super Raid in the 10th minute extended the Steelers’ dominance. However, Bengal Warriorz, led by Pranay Rane and Maninder Singh, fought back. An ALL OUT on the stroke of halftime leveled the scores at 17-17. In the previous match, Maninder Singh completed 1500 points.
Speaking on the same, he said, ” Honestly, I didn’t think about it much, neither did I keep a count of it, I got to know about it when I saw it on social media. But honestly, it feels really good to score this many points.”
Haryana Steeler’s loss in PKL 11
The second half of this PKL 11 thriller saw Maninder Singh take control, keeping the Warriorz competitive despite a Super Raid by Patare. With 13 minutes left, Vinay completed his Super 10, but the Warriorz, spearheaded by Mayur Kadam and Maninder, surged ahead. Another ALL OUT on Haryana Steelers extended their lead to 8 points.
In the final moments, the Warriorz nullified Mohammadreza Shadloui and sealed an emphatic 7-point win, underlining their PKL 11 title ambitions.
“This game was an awakening for my boys. Our team was stronger but they did not play to their strength and skills. Now I can say I hope they don’t make the same mistakes and learn from the loss, so I would say this was necessary for them to get grounded, ” said Harayna’s coach.
