Jaipur Pink Panthers now sit at the seventh spot in the PKL 11 points table.

Devank Dalal delivered yet another standout performance in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11), guiding the Patna Pirates to a commanding 38-28 victory over the Jaipur Pink Panthers in Match 99 at the Balewadi Stadium.

Jaipur’s captain and coach addressed the media after their loss, while Patna’s Devank and coach shared their views on the team’s win in PKL 11.

On Devank’s performance in PKL 11

Devank racked up 14 points, keeping his side firmly in contention for a semi-final spot while completing a season double over their rivals.

“Devank is playing his best game. He is super confident and he motivates the team as well, even when we are down he is confident to bring in points, ” said the Patna Pirates coach.

“I owe all the points to my team. The support from the back, the trust that coach has shown in me, it is the support of my teammates that I could score this many points, ” said Devank after crossing 200 points in PKL 11.

On facing Tamil Thalaivas next in PKL 11

The game began with defenders dominating the mat. Ankush Rathee’s early tackles helped Jaipur gain a slender lead, but the introduction of Arkam Shaikh proved pivotal for Patna. His dynamic play turned the tide, including a double tackle on Neeraj Narwal and Lucky Sharma. Patna will now go on to face Tamil Thalaivas next in PKL 11.

“Tamil Thalaivas are a good team and they are doing well too, we will look back at the older matches and make the plan and it will be a good match to watch, ” added Patna Pirates coach.

Despite this, Jaipur Pink Panthers entered halftime with an 18-12 advantage, thanks to Arjun Deshwal’s clinical raids, including a multi-point effort.

“Arjun and Neeraj will work more on their efforts and play a better game when we play next, ” said Jaipur Pink Panthers assistant coach.

On the road ahead for Jaipur in PKL 11

However, the second half saw a revitalized Patna Pirates. Deepak’s tackle on Arjun Deshwal and Ayan Lohchab’s point set the tone, followed by an ALL OUT inflicted on Jaipur within five minutes. The Pirates scored 12 points in the third quarter, gaining momentum and control.

“There were defence in mistakes, and it is my responsibility too, that I could not make my team better. Winning today’s match was very important for us to qualify for TOP 6. Now we have to give our 100% and win the remaining matches because qualification is the top priority for us, ” said captain Arjun Deshwal.

As the match wound down, Patna’s defence stood tall, neutralizing Jaipur’s raiders. Devank capped his night with another Super 10, sealing a crucial PKL 11 victory for the Pirates and emphasizing their title aspirations.
