Puneri Paltan will start their campaign in PKL 11 on 19th October.

Puneri Paltan have retained Aslam Inamdar as their skipper for the season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 11). It was no surprise to see the all-rounder retaining the leadership role having led the team to their maiden tile in his maiden season as the captain. The defending champions who have retained the core have entrusted with 24-year-old like they did last year.

The appointment of Aslam Inamdar as the Puneri Paltan’s captain caused many people to raise an eyebrow last year. The all-rounder was required to fill a massive role left by Fazel Atrachali. But the man from Maharashtra was not perturbed by the pressure as he came out firing in his first season.

With 142 points, he was the team’s main raider and contributed 26 Tackle points. He was also named as the most valuable player of the season and rightfully so because of the influence he had on his team. His players performed fearlessly throughout the season, showing no indications of nervousness. It was a reflection of his fearlessness that the team carried into the mat.

In the years to come, his collaboration with Mohammadreza Chiyanneh would likely be the most talked-about duo in PKL. But this season he will have a new task of handling the team with the Iranian left corner who was sensational last season. The Paltans have found an equally talented Mohit Khaler who will join the trio of Gaurav Khatri, Abinesh Nadarajan, and Sanket Sawant.

The all-rounder have a happy problem to deal with called as the Problem of Plenty. The season 10 saw them dominate the opposition defense with the trident attack. While Aslam Inamdar was the primary wrecker in chief, Mohit Goyat and Pankaj Mohite contributed equally. With the addition of Ajith Kumar, it will be interesting to see who features in the starting seven.

The Tamil Nadu man’s all-round skills have seen drastic improvements and has added value to every PKL team he has moved. Fans will be waiting to see if Ajith could sneak into the starting seven or will they continue with the tested trio. The decisions like these could elevate Aslam from being a captain to a leader and possibly lead the nation in the future.
