U Mumba will be looking to give their fans a chance to rejoice in PKL 11.

The 11th season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 11) is set to begin on Friday, October 18, and will run for more than two months, attracting the attention of kabaddi fans around the world. A fair bit of attention will be on U Mumba.

The Season 2 Champions had played the finals in the first three editions, but haven’t done so after that. They haven’t qualified for the playoffs ever since their semifinal finish in the seventh edition. Last time, they could win only 6 of their 22 matches, finishing tenth on the table with 45 points. They had started well, achieving a streak of five successive wins at one point. However, there was a sudden shift in momentum, which meant that they didn’t secure a win in any of their last 14 matches.

While the management has kept their faith in Coach Gholamreza Mazandarani, they released several players and made exciting new additions ahead of PKL 11. The most important change was bringing together the famed cover duo of Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhainswal, who have wreaked havoc together for the Gujarat Giants previously.

The former is also one of the calmest heads in the league and is expected to lead his side well. After suffering a season-ending injury last time, Rinku Sharma (one of the two vice-captains, the other being Parvesh) will return to the position of right corner in Pro Kabaddi League season 11.

For all U Mumba supporters and other kabaddi fans, Here are three players who should be in your Dream11 team, they can get you a lot of points in the PKL 11 season:

3. Manjeet Dahiya (Raider)

Raider Manjeet Dahiya is known to be consistent, a parameter all fans find of utmost importance while picking their Dream11 sides.

Manjeet made an impression in his debut season for the Patna Pirates, with a tally of 102 points. In the next few seasons, despite having to change teams every time, he played with the same intensity. He scored 151 points in season 7 (Puneri Paltan), 167 in season 8 (Tamil Thalaivas), and 163 in season 9 (Haryana Steelers).

Last season, he made a return to the Patna Pirates scoring 122 points, despite having to play second fiddle to Sachin Tanwar. This season, the right raider will get an opportunity to potentially lead the raiding unit. Having been picked up at the auction for Rs. 80 lakhs, Manjeet will be hoping that he can conjure a 200+ point season for the U Mumba in PKL 11.

2. Sunil Kumar (Defender)

Sunil Kumar Malik broke his own record of being the most expensive Indian defender at the PKL auctions, after getting picked up at Rs. 1.1015 Crores ahead of PKL 11 by the Season 2 Champions.

In his four seasons for the Gujarat Giants starting from the fifth edition, he scored 57, 76, 46, and 38 tackle points. After moving to the Jaipur Pink Panthers in season 9, he led his new team to victory in the same season. In his two seasons at the Pink Panthers, the right cover scored 64 and 55 tackle points. Combining with Parvesh Bhainswal this time at his new team, Sunil would look to cause a lot of menace for opposition raiders in the upcoming season too.

Being one of the calmest heads in the league, he is also less likely to make errors, which could in turn help your Dream11 points tally, should you choose to keep him in your team.

1. Amirmohammad Zafardanesh (All Rounder)

Amirmohammad Zafardanesh is one of the regulars in the Iran team starting 7. After his performance in his team’s silver medal-winning campaign at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year, he was much sought after in the PKL 10 auctions and was picked up by the Mumbai-based franchisee at a whopping price of Rs. 68 lakhs.

The young all-rounder justified this price tag with his performances. He scored 148 points in 20 matches, including 141 raid points and 7 tackle points. This was even though he was only half-fit during the second half of the season. The Iranian’s quick feet mesmerized everyone and he will be hoping that he can put on even better performances this time.

Because Zafardanesh can score points in both defense and offense, you shouldn’t miss out on keeping him in your Dream11 team in PKL 11.
