On Day 1 of the PKL 12 auction, no one trusted some big names.

The opening day of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 auction (PKL 12) took place on Saturday, May 31, in Mumbai. 28 players across Categories A and B went under the hammer on Day 1 of the player auction. 12 players, including two overseas players, were pitted in Category A, and all players from the category found takers in the auction.

Meanwhile, 16 players, including an Iranian defender from Category B, were called up in the auction. 14 players were picked up by different teams on Day 1, while two players remained unsold.

Pardeep Narwal, who played for the Bengaluru Bulls in the previous edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. He was listed in Domestic Players – Category B (Raiders) with a base price of Rs. 20 lakhs. The star Indian raider failed to fetch any bid in the auction and went unsold.

Meanwhile, Sahil Gulia became the first player to go unsold in the PKL Season 12 player auction. He was listed in Domestic Players – Category B (Defenders) with a base price of Rs. 20 lakhs. The left corner was part of the Tamil Thalaivas squad since making his PKL debut in 2021.

The 23-year-old player was part of the Thalaivas squad for four seasons, but the Chennai-based franchise decided to release the player ahead of the auction.

Day 2 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 player auction will take place on Sunday (June 1) in Mumbai. The player auction on the second day will commence at 10:00 am IST. Over 500 players from Category C and Category D are expected to go under the hammer.
