Dabang Delhi brought their best game and some luck to the table by thrashing the strong Puneri Paltan to record their second win of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). Puneri Paltan were a little unfortunate to have ended up on the wrong side despite a match-winning performance.
Sachin Tanwar must have had a sleepless night because his big mistake cost his side two crucial points. The match went into a tiebreaker and then the golden raid. With this, Puneri Paltan’s flawless start has come to an end.
After the game, both teams’ head coaches and captains addressed the media.
Puneri Paltan
Thoughts on the game
Puneri Paltan head coach Ajay Thakur shared his views on the game. He said that he wasn’t disappointed with his team’s performance. “We have not lost, this is just luck. This golden raid is dependent on luck because if it were our raid, we would win the match. There were good raiders on both sides. Ashu’s raid came, and he went away with a point. I am not disappointed at all.”
“We made mistakes, but we covered them up. We did not lose. Sachin should have come back, but he could not see the time, and he got out. I have no regrets about this match, because we lost it due to luck,” he added.

Message to Sachin Tanwar
Skipper Aslam Inamdar opened up about his message to Sachin Tanwar after what happened on the mat. He said, “When we lost, I made a circle and told Sachin that you fought like a lion. You cannot blame anything or any player. It is a team game.”
“So here, seven players fight. Sachin is a great player. We cannot put all the pressure on Sachin because of one mistake. So I am confident that Sachin will win us one game all by himself. I have that much confidence in him,” he added.
Ajay Thakur also shared his thoughts on the same and said, “I will definitely go and talk to him about what was going on in his mind at that time. I will ask him Why did you lose your attention? There is pressure as well because this is not a small league. It is a big league. These people have won three matches in a row. I can only coach them and make them understand. They are the ones who have to play.”
Gaurav Khatri’s performance
Ajay Thakur praised Gaurav Khatri for his performance and said, “Gaurav is playing very well and with a lot of maturity. You can see that whenever the team needs him, Gaurav and Aslam together have given the team a catch. Taking an advanced tackle of such a big raider like Ashu Malik is a big thing in itself. He is playing very well.”
Thoughts on Patna Pirates
Ajay Thakur shared his thoughts on the Patna Pirates ahead of their next game. He said, “All the teams here have equal players. The team that makes fewer mistakes will win. If they make fewer mistakes that day, they will win. If we make fewer mistakes, we will win. We will watch today’s match and see what mistakes we are making.”
Aslam was also asked about his feelings ahead of the game against the Pirates, and he said, “It is a good team. They have a good young brigade, and they were the finalists last year. Their coach is also chill-minded. So I think it will be a good match. Every match is a challenge for us. We have a good combination. They also have it. So you will know our result only after the match.”
