PKL 12 Final Highlights: Dabang Delhi crowned champions by defeating Puneri Paltan

It is the grand finale of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12), and a blockbuster contest awaits as the top two teams on the points table at the end of the league stage will battle it out for the title. Table-toppers Puneri Paltan will take on home team Dabang Delhi at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium.

Both teams will be aiming for their second PKL title. Delhi won the title in season eight with Joginder Narwal as skipper, and the legend would want to win it as a coach as well.

On the other hand, their opponents, Puneri Paltan, will be playing their third final in four years, having registered an impressive win against Telugu Titans in the second qualifier.

Pune’s coach, Ajay Thakur, will also aim for his first PKL title as coach. Ironically, he was part of the playing squad in season eight when Delhi lifted the PKL trophy. History will be made, and it will be interesting to see who will win their second title.

Players to watch out for

Dabang Delhi – Ashu Malik

Dabang Delhi haven’t dropped a sweat, making it to the playoffs thanks to their domination. In the final, they will be relying on their captain, Ashu Malik.

Ashu looked rusty in the first qualifier and would want to bring his best game on Friday. He would like to focus on bonus points against Puneri’s defense, as they lost 19 bonus points against the Titans in the last match. Notably, Ashu failed to score a single bonus in their earlier encounter.

Puneri Paltan – Aditya Shinde

Aditya Shinde has been the story of this season; he has outperformed star raiders like Sachin Tanwar, Pankaj Mohite, and Mohit Goyat.

His consistency has resulted in two of the three mentioned raiders being asked to warm the bench. His multi-point raids in the second half helped them beat the Titans. He will again be the crucial factor against Delhi’s experienced defensive unit.
