PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 14, Puneri Paltan vs Dabang Delhi

It’s a battle of Delhi’s experienced defenders against Pune’s Young raiders

The last match of the first week of the Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) promises to be a blockbuster, as the Season 8 champion will face the Season 10 champion. Week 1 has been up to the expectations of the fans, and this first week’s finale is promising to be even more of a blockbuster.

Both Dabang Delhi and Puneri Paltan have won their last encounters. Dabang Delhi, with a combination of young raiders and experienced defenders, will look to halt Pune’s winning run. On the other hand, Puneri Paltan, with a young squad, will aim for four consecutive wins to cement their place at the pole position.

Dabang Delhi defeated Bengaluru Bulls in their opening match with a strong defensive performance. Delhi will be hoping for a similar performance from the defence in the upcoming matches as well. Meanwhile, Puneri Paltan are coming with a win against Bengal Warriorz

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Puneri Paltan and Dabang Delhi in PKL 12.

Ashu Malik vs Gaurav Khatri

Delhi’s MVP over the last two seasons, Ashu Malik, will look to start from where he left off in the last match. Ashu had been consistently performing for Delhi for the last two years. He has taken many matches away from the opposition single-handedly with his brilliant raiding skills. Moreover, he is the heart of Delhi’s raiding lineup.

He scored 15 raid points in the last match. If Puneri Paltan wants to win, they need to stop Ashu Malik from scoring.

On the other hand, Pune’s star defender Gaurav Khatri is the right man to stop Ashu Malik. Gaurav has been in tremendous form. The right corner specialist will be a threat to Delhi’s raiding department.

Even though he just scored a single point in the last match, his previous two performances are enough to prove that he can be a headache for Ashu Malik. Moreover, Pune’s defence is in red-hot form and will be a threat to Delhi’s young raiding lineup.

Fazel Atrachali vs Aditya Shinde

The Iranian veteran Fazel Atrachali is the defender to watch out for in this match. Fazel has been part of the PKL since season 2 and has been one of the best defenders of the league.

The 33-year-old will be the backbone of Delhi’s defence, and if anyone can stop Puneri’s young raiders, it’s Fazel Atrachali. He had a good opening match in which he scored 3 tackle points and will be looking for a high five in the second match.

On the other hand, Aditya Shinde, the young raiding sensation of Puneri Paltan, has been making waves this season. He scored 11 points in the last match and played a crucial role in his team’s winning run so far.

Aditya’s presence in the team adds versatility to the raiding lineup, and the way he is playing this year, he can even stop Fazel Atrachali as well.

Surjeet Singh vs Aslam Inamdar

After a poor last season, Dabang Delhi have shown faith in Surjeet, and he had a good opening match. He scored 3 tackle points and helped his team win the match. The right cover with his experience can stop the young raiding department of Pune, and will be important for Delhi’s chances.

Puneri Paltan’s captain, Aslam, will be the key player in this match. With his all-rounder skills, he can take the match away from the opposition at any time.

Aslam has been doing great so far, and if Delhi wants to win the match, Aslam should be kept outside the mat for the majority of the match. In the last match, Aslam scored 11 points and will be looking to perform the same way he has been doing.
