PKL 12: Coach Anup Kumar reveals reason behind his heated reaction against Dabang Delhi

Patna Pirates are ninth in the PKL12 standings.
Three-time PKL champions, Patna Pirates, finally returned to winning ways in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) after a couple of disappointing defeats. The Pirates secured a much-needed 33-30 win in style and shot down an in-form Dabang Delhi side in Jaipur.
Dabang Delhi, who came into this game on the back of a six-match winning streak, had no answers to Patna’s resilient comeback. Ankit Kumar came off the bench and stole the show for the Pirates, taking them home with a 12-point stint.
After the PKl 12 match, representatives from both teams addressed the media and shared their thoughts.

Thoughts on the game
Dabang Delhi head coach Joginder Narwal spoke about his assessment of the game and said, “We had the lead from the beginning till the end, but then somewhere we got loose and gave away a few points. Ankit won the match singlehandedly for Patna; otherwise, the match was far from his team. The match was in our favour.”

Thoughts on the win
Patna Pirates head coach Anup Kumar opened up about his feelings about the win and said, “The joy of victory is different, and we have been losing matches continuously. We have won the second match of seven matches.
I am very happy and more than that, I am happy that in 2015, I was the captain of the U Mumba team, which won six matches in a row and Delhi maintained that record, but they also lost the seventh match just like we did, so I am even happier about that.”
Heated moments on the mat
Anup Kumar shared why he became so aggressive during the final stages of the game and said, “It happens many times. I was getting a little angry because they did not use the substitution rule properly, and that would have given them an advantage. So that’s why it happens a little bit. I apologise for that.”
Ayan Lohchab’s performance
Anup Kumar again spoke about Ayan Lohchab’s performance and said, “No coach will be happy because a player like Ayan has that capability.
He is a good player and is very skilful. Everything about him is good. Despite that, when he doesn’t play well, it seems that he becomes a little weak mentally. I have played as a Raider and I know that It gets a little tough after a couple of tackles, and that’s probably what’s happening with Ayan.”
