PKL 12 Playoffs & Final dates, venue announced

PKL Season 12 is expected to be the most closely-fought edition.

The Chennai leg of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) concludes today, marking the end of an exciting chapter filled with close contests and dramatic finishes.

The final leg of the league stage will now take place in Delhi, with the remaining fixtures scheduled from October 11 to 23 at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium. Fans can expect high-intensity matches as teams battle for the final playoff spots in what has been one of the most competitive seasons to date.

Dates, Venue of Playoffs and Final announced

The Pro Kabaddi League has also announced the Playoffs and Final schedule, with Delhi set to host the knockout stages and the summit clash. The Playoffs will begin on October 25 and run until October 29, followed by the grand finale on October 31, also at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium.

This means Delhi will witness both the conclusion of the league stage and the entire knockout phase, ensuring a thrilling three-week kabaddi madness in the city.

PKL 12: Play-ins and play-offs format explained

Adding to the excitement this season is a revamped Playoffs structure that introduces the concept of Play-ins. Before this season, only the top six teams qualified for the playoffs. Now the top eight teams from the league stage will get a chance to fight for the title.

This change has been made to keep more teams competing throughout the season and increase the importance of each league match. Under the new format, teams finishing 5th to 8th will compete in Play-in matches, with the winners advancing to the Eliminators.

The 3rd and 4th placed teams will meet in a Mini-Qualifier, where the winner advances closer to the title, while the loser still has another opportunity later.

Meanwhile, the top two teams on the points table will face each other in Qualifier 1, with the winner booking a direct spot in the Final and the loser moving to Qualifier 2 for a second chance. The new structure ensures a total of three Eliminators and two Qualifiers, adding multiple knockout scenarios and heightening the unpredictability of the Playoffs.

With the revamped format and an extended qualification window, PKL 12 promises a dramatic finish, and this one could easily go down as the most competitive season in the league’s history.
