PKL 12 Qualifier 1: Which two teams will play the Ticket to Finale match?

The Qualifier 1 of PKL 12 is on October 27.

The league stage of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) is over, and the road to the finals has begun. According to the new playoff format, a total of eight teams advanced to the next round.

The top four will directly enter the playoffs, while the next four teams will compete in the play-ins to earn a playoffs spot.

The top two teams on the points table will face each other in Qualifier 1, with a direct opportunity to reach the final. Moreover, the team finishing in the top two will have an additional lifeline; if they lose Qualifier 1, they’ll get another chance to qualify through Qualifier 2.

Finishing in the top two is, therefore, a major advantage. On that note, let’s take a look at the two teams that have confirmed their Top 2 finish and have qualified to play in Qualifier 1 of PKL 12.

Puneri Paltan

Puneri Paltan, led by Aslam Inamdar, have been brilliant throughout the season and finished at the top of the points table with 13 wins in 18 games. They have been dominant from the very start, showcasing excellent teamwork, consistency, and balance in both attack and defence throughout the season.

Aditya Shinde is the team’s leading raid scorer, with 118 raid points in 15 games, while the defence has been anchored by Gaurav Khatri, who has 50 tackle points in 16 games.

More than individual brilliance, the team is known for collective contributions from every player. They also rank first in both total tackle points and average tackle points per game. Having confirmed their place in the top two, the Paltan will now feature in Qualifier 1 against Dabang Delhi.

Dabang Delhi

Dabang Delhi stepped onto the mat this season with a mission to prove everyone wrong. Few expected them to perform this well after they filled their squad with experienced defenders instead of young prospects.

However, they have silenced all critics with their consistent and composed performances. The experience in their lineup has been the key, helping them clinch several close matches in the dying minutes.

They are placed second on the points table with 13 wins in 18 games and have secured their spot in Qualifier 1 and will now face Puneri in the Ticket to Finale match.

Ashu Malik has been their top raid scorer with 146 raid points in just 12 games, while the defence has been commanded by the Sultan himself, Fazel Atrachali, who has registered 49 tackle points in 17 games.

When is the PKL 12 final?

The final of PKL 12 is on October 31.
