PKL 12 Qualifier 1: Will Ashu Malik play tonight against Puneri Paltan?

Ashu Malik has missed Dabang Delhi’s last six matches in PKL 12.

Puneri Paltan are set to lock horns with Dabang Delhi in Qualifier 1 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12) at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi on Monday, October 27.

Puneri Paltan finished atop the PKL 2025 standings, while Dabang Delhi bagged second place. Both franchises earned 26 points from 18 matches each, courtesy of 13 wins and five losses apiece.

The Pune-based franchise had a score difference of 88, compared to Delhi’s 38, and thus finished higher on the points table. The winner of Qualifier 1 will book a berth in the summit clash of PKL Season 12, while the loser gets another lifeline, playing the winner of Eliminator 3 in the second qualifier on Wednesday, October 29.

Dabang Delhi have missed the services of Ashu Malik for the last couple of games in the Chennai leg and all matches of the home leg. On that note, let’s take a look at the possibilities of the Indian raider making it to the starting 7 for tonight’s encounter.

Ashu Malik has missed six matches (two in the Chennai leg and four in the Delhi leg). He last played against the Haryana Steelers, where he was substituted after four points, due to an injury he picked up during a raid.

However, the good news for Dabang Delhi is that Ashu has fully recovered from his injury and is raring to take the mat against Puneri Paltan on Monday. The player himself confirmed his availability for the PKL playoffs.

“I will definitely play,” said Ashu Malik during a press conference ahead of the PKL 12 Playoffs.

Ashu has earned 148 points (146 raid points and two tackle points) from 12 matches thus far in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. The Indian raider averages 12.16 raid points per match from a total of 237 raids.

The Dabang Delhi skipper has seven Super Raids and eight Super 10s to his name. He has a 61.6% success rate in raids and has an 80.16% not out.
