PKL 9: Teams Pawan Sehrawat could play for
Pro Kabaddi League Auction set to begin on Friday.
The much-anticipated Pro Kabaddi League Auction is set to begin on Friday. It will go on for two days, and several Kabaddi stars are ready to go under the hammer. The auction will witness some prominent names from Kabaddi history, including the Indian legend, Pawan Sehrawat. The PKL star had a phenomenal last season as he earned 304 raid points in 24 games for the Bengaluru Bulls. He earned 18 Super 10s and scored 6 Super Raids in the last edition.
It was a surprising call from the Bulls when they released Sehrawat. However, the Bulls must have had something in their mind while taking this tough call. Undoubtedly, he is going to be the most sought-after player in the PKL 9 auction. Today, let us take a quick glance at the teams that could target Pawan in the auction:
UP Yoddhas
Most of the players retained by UP Yoddhas are young, which means they are looking for someone who has rich experience, and one can’t get a better player than Pawan Sehrawat. He is an excellent raider who can also earn some tackle points for his team when needed. By releasing Pardeep Narwal, UP Yoddhas might be looking for someone equivalent to Pardeep, and without any doubt, it could be Pawan Sehrawat.
U Mumba
U Mumba has just retained one player from their Elite Player Category, and that is Captain Rinku. They are most likely to build a fresh team this time. U Mumba did a good job with their defending skills last season as compared to raiding, and who could be a better pick than Pawan Sehrawat to improve their raiding skills? They are surely going to bid for Sehrawat.
Haryana Steelers
Haryana Steelers parted ways with their prime raider, Vikash Khandola, and are now left with no leading raider. The Steelers did not pick any player from their Elite Category, and it could give them an edge over others in terms of money. They can go for Sehrawat to make him their main raider, who can also help raiders like Meetu and Vinay in several ways.
Patna Pirates
This might surprise you, but the Patna Pirates have all the reasons to go for Pawan Sehrawat. Though their top three raiders; Sachin Tanwar, Prashanth Kumar Rai, and Monu Goyat, led the raiding department, none of them has been retained by the franchise. So, there is all the possibility that the Pirates can go for Sehrawat. In the past, Pardeep Narwal tasted huge success with the Pirates, and this could encourage them to go for Pawan Sehrawat in the upcoming auction.
Tamil Thalaivas
Thalaivas didn’t play like ‘Thalaivas’ at all when it comes to Season 8. They had a terrible outing, with just five victories under their belt throughout the season. They only have one experienced raider in the form of Ajinkya Ashok Pawar, who is just having an experience of 3 PKL seasons. He needs someone to get along with in raiding to take Thalaivas up on the table, and Pawan Sehrawat has everything to offer to Tamil Thalaivas.
