PKL 9 day 11 live updates: Telugu Titans Vs Puneri Paltan
07:30 Hello and welcome to Khel Now’s live update of day 11 of PKL season 9.
Bengal Warriors vs Jaipur Pink Panthers
Bengal Warriors and Jaipur Pink Panthers both are coming off a victory against Patna Pirates and Gujarat Giants respectively. It will be the top of a table clash with the winners moving closer to the number one position.
Bengal Warriors after a loss in the opening game of PKL 9 won three matches on the trot with the brilliance of Maninder Singh ably supported by secondary raiders. Bengal won the last match against Patna Pirates by a 26-score margin (52-26).
Jaipur Pink Panthers in a similar way got off to a poor start but came back stronger winning the next three matches and occupying the third spot. Jaipur won the low-scoring encounter (25-18) against Gujarat Giants.
Head to Head
Bengal Warriors and Jaipur Pink Panthers have faced each other in 14 matches in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) out of which Bengal Warriors have won 10 whereas Jaipur Pink Panthers have come out victorious on 4 occasions. Bengal Warriors have won both matches against Jaipur in PKL 8.
Key to Success
Shubham Shinde, Vaibhav Garje, and Girish Ernak have formed a good defence set-up in the Bengal Warriors setup. Girish Ernak is the most experienced defender who has more than 300 tackle points but needs to show consistency throughout the match rather than performing in patches.
Sunil Kumar one of the most experienced defenders in the history of PKL has handled the defensive setup of Jaipur pretty well but has given their best. The raiding trio of Rahul, Arjun Deshwal, and Ajith can be lethal if they start performing well simultaneously.
Puneri Paltan vs Telugu Titans
Puneri Paltans won their first match in the PKL 9 against U Mumba in their fourth encounter. The Maharashtrian derby was a tight contest with Puneri Paltan beating U Mumba 30-28. This win should give them a lot of confidence going forward in the next match against Telugu Titans after a poor start to the season having one of the best sides on papers.
Telugu Titans have looked highly inconsistent even after the presence of experienced raiders and defenders. None of the players has played together causing problems but needs to step up after having played four matches. In the last game against Dabang Delhi KC, the southern side lost by 20 point margin denting their confidence.
Head to Head
Puneri Paltan and Telugu Titans have faced each other 16 times in the PKL. Out of these 16 games, Puneri Paltan has won nine whereas Telugu Titans have come out victorious on six occasions with only one match ending in a tie.
Key to Success
For Puneri Paltans Mohammed Nabibaksh needs to score raid points which he has been lacking at. In the last game against U Mumba, the all-rounder scored four tackle points with none coming from the raiding department. If the allrounder along with Mohit Goyat can come good in both attack and defence then the team can look more diverse.
The raiding department needs to step up and show consistency. Monu Goyat has scored only one super 10 in the four matches and needs to step up being the most experienced raider along with Siddharth Desai. The absence of Rajnish has hurt Telugu Titans very badly but Ankit Beniwal the other retained raider can take up his position.
