PKL 9 Day 7 live updates: Gujarat Giants Vs Puneri Paltan
Hello and Welcome to Khel Now’s live updates of day 6 of PKL 9.
Tamil Thalaivas vs U Mumba
U Mumba after a poor start to the PKL season 9 bounced back well beating the stronger UP Yoddhas after losing to Dabang Delhi KC. Presently U Mumba stands eighth on the points table. Tamil Thalaivas are yet to win after losing to Haryana Steelers and tying against Gujarat Giants. The southern side is placed 10th.
Head to Head
Both teams have played each other seven times with U Mumba winning five times with one tie. U Mumba has always been dominant for the past few seasons.
Player to watch
It’s high time for Ajinkya Pawar to step up after being retained from the last season. He was one of the best raiders from the Tamil Thalaivas setup apart from Manjeet being the do-or-die specialist in the last season even after missing out on the initial few games. In PKL season 9 as well after the injury of Pawan Sehrawat there is added responsibility of being the experienced raider.
Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Haryana Steelers
Jaipur Pink Panthers and Haryana Steelers are coming off a victory from their last encounters and presently sit in sixth and third place respectively. Pink Panthers has bounced back well after losing their opening encounter with Haryana winning both their initial matches.
Key to Success
With the arrival of Iranian players, Haryana Steelers will have the presence of Bastami strengthening their defence. The defence in the first two games has looked good but with the right-back’s inclusion, there will be a backup and making the defence bit stronger.
Rahul Chaudhary has a good time at the National Games held recently scoring a super 10 in the finals but has not continued to perform to the same level in the PKL. On paper, the raiding of Jaipur looks great but only Arjun Deshwal and Ajith to an extent have performed. Rahul Chaudhary needs to step in and put in more raids to gain back the confidence.
Gujarat Giants and Puneri Paltan
Gujarat Giants and Puneri Paltan will both be looking for their first win of the season in Match 18 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 9. Both teams had had forgettable seasons up to this point. However, Giants and Paltan will be looking to up the ante and earn their first victory of the season.
Players to watch out
For Puneri Paltan to succeed it will be up to Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat how they perform. Rakesh, on the other hand, has led the raiders’ charge for the Gujarat Giants. The Giants will hope that he fires all guns blazing.
