Haryana Steelers missed out on playoffs last season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) after finishing 7th on the points table. They had a downfall in PKL season 8, after ending the 7th season with a 5th place finish. This season the Steelers have a good blend of experience and youth in their squad.

The Steelers have turned a page in their history book ahead of season 9. They have let go of their poster boy, Vikash Kandola. The duo had been retained by the Steelers ahead of the auction. It is impressive that the Steelers have managed to replace the outgoing Vikash Kandola by acquiring high-quality raiders. They have bought in Manjeet, Prapanjan, and Rakesh Narwal. Rakesh was a formidable force for the coach Manpreet last season. The duo is set to be reunited in the blue of Haryana Steelers.

 They have bolstered their defensive unit by adding experienced left-corners in Nitin Rawal and Joginder Narwal. The cover combination of Mohit and Jaideep which worked well for the Steelers last season is retained by the management for the future. The exciting bit of the defense is Amirhossein Bastami – the Iranian was acquired for 65.10 Lac. He will slot in at the right-cover position.
