Star all-rounder Ran Singh joins Bengaluru Bulls for PKL 9
The veteran went unsold in the auction last month.
Ran Singh, one of Pro Kabaddi League's (PKL) prominent all-rounders, wasn't bought by any side in the auctions held last month. But he has been roped in by Bengaluru Bulls after the auction. He has been practicing with the Bulls camp ahead of the 9th season of the tournament which is set to begin next month from 7th October onwards.
Ran Singh began his PKL career as a defender for the Jaipur Pink Panthers in season 1. He had a very special experience when the team won the inaugural edition. He spent four years with the team. Then he was acquired by the Bengal Warriors team for the fifth season for INR 43 lakh. Singh had a very successful first season with them as he scored 64 points in 23 games. It was his most productive season as a defender in the tournament.
He will be a great support to already strong defense of Bulls
Ran Singh had the added benefit of having his best friend Maninder Singh on the team. The duo had played together for Jaipur Pink Panthers in the inaugural title winning season. If Ran Singh was one of the stars in defense, Maninder was the wheel behind the raiding department.
Later in season 7 Tamil Thalaivas' team picked him in the auction. The franchise shelled out a mind-blowing INR 55 lakh to acquire the gifted all-rounder.
Ran Singh therefore in the real sense is an experienced pro in the league and he would add a lot of value to the Bulls defense which already has the likes of Mahendra Singh, Mayur Jagannath Kadam, Saurabh Nandal, and Aman.
Ran Singh has played over 100 games in the tournament and he has scored more than 220 tackle points. He is also a very useful raider. He doesn't raid regularly but can be called upon for a raid or two when the team needs him. Singh has scored over 100 raid points in his PKL career.
