These youngsters will look to stamp their mark on the league.

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9 is set to start in a few days with both the fans and the players excited to start the season on a brighter note. Every season the league has produced young players who went ahead to represent their National team. PKL is an excellent platform for many young players.

In this article let us look at the top 5 NYPs to watch out for in the upcoming season:

5. Shivansh Thakur (U Mumba)

Shivansh Thakur will be plying his trade for U Mumba in PKL season 9 as a right-cover defender. He was recently included in the Himachal Pradesh squad for the 69th Kabaddi Senior Nationals Squad hed in July. Thakur would have gained valuable experience in the defence playing alongside Vishal Bharadwaj who is experienced in the PKL setup.

In PKL season 9 U Mumba did not take any star players available on the auction list which was surprising to many. But they have stacked in a lot of young talents and if they start clicking U Mumba can have a good season but inexperience can play its part as well.

4. Partheek Dahiya (Gujarat Titans)

The tall lanky raider from Haryana will be part of Gujarat Titans in PKL 9. Parteek Dahiya took part in the K7 Kabaddi tournament in Haryana representing Deepak Niwas Hooda (DNH) foundation. In a match against the Narwal Golden Club, he scored 40 raid points and single-handedly won the match.

Overall Partheek Dahiya finished the league as the second-best raider and took the team to the semi-finals. Last season Partheek was part of the Patna Pirates as an NYP player under Ram Mehar Singh. After moving to Gujarat Titans Ram Mehar Singh took Partheek also along with him.

3. Anuj Tanwar (Patna Pirates)

The left raider has been in the junior setup for Haryana since 2019 and has represented the state team in various Junior Championships and the Khelo India Youth Games. He won part of the bronze medal-winning team at the 66th Senior Nationals and also was part of the gold medal-winning team at the KIYG.

Anuj was part of the UP Yoddhas Developmental side which is a good platform for many young budding players to excel.

2. Amir Hossein Bastami (Haryana Steelers)

Amir Hossein Bastami was bought for 65.1 lakhs in the PKL season 9 auctions becoming the third highest paid foreign player. He will be donning the right corner position forming a combination with the experienced Joginder Narwal from the left corner.

Bastami was part of the Iran side which won the World Kabaddi Junior Championships playing an important role. In PKL 9 he will be an important player in Haryana Steeler’s setup as Manpreet is known to nurture young talents.

1. Sankar Gadai (Gujarat Titans)

Sankar Gadai the right corner defender is having a stellar 2022 season first winning the Senior Maharashtra State Championships and then going on to win the silver medal at the 36th National Games representing Maharashtra.
