Head to Head
There is not much to separate the two teams with UP Yodhhas holding a slender lead of 4-3 in the eight matches they have met. Last season ( season 8) the teams played the only tie with UP Yodhhas winning the second battle.
Player to watch
Pardeep Narwal will is slowly getting back to his normal form and will be of great support to Surendar Gill if he keeps performing as he did against Jaipur Pink Panthers in the opening encounter.
U Mumba needs Guman Singh to step up as soon as possible. He was their top buy in the auctions and has put the total responsibility on his shoulders with him being relatively inexperienced. Ashish put in a good effort and if Guman clicks the team can challenge the opposition.
Key to Success
UP Yoddhas
UP Yoddhas played collectively as a team in their first win. Pardeep Narwal initially didn’t look good but came back to form in the final quarter leading the raiding. Surendra Gill played with the same intensity continuing from the last season. None of the raiders scored super 10, playing collectively in both raid and defence.
U Mumba
Surender Singh after taking up the captaincy did not involve many advanced tackles but needs to nurture the experienced ones as none of them has more than 50 tackle points in the PKL overall.
Did you know
Surendra Singh is the only defender from U Mumba to score more than 100 tackle points with a total of 205 points.
