Pro Kabaddi League season 9 Team Profile: Telugu Titans

Telugu Titans have won just one game in the last season out of their 22 matches.

With Pro Kabaddi League just around the corner, all the teams are set to give their best in the upcoming edition. While teams like Patna Pirates, Dabang Delhi and UP Yoddha would be looking to continue their great performances, franchises such as Tamil Thalaivas, Bengal Warriors and U Mumba would be under a lot of pressure to do well this time. One of the franchises Telugu Titans had a terrible outing last season with just one victory in their 22 matches. They would look to change their fortunes this time. Strengths

Excellent raiders this time

The team is lucky to have a raider like Siddharth Desai in their squad, who has been impressive in PKL history. Desai could only play three games last season because of an injury, but they retained him, keeping in mind his value as a player. This time he would like to give his best to take his team out of this bad phase. The Titans also have Monu Goyat, Abhishek Singh, Ankit Beniwal, Rajneesh, and Vinay as raiders in the squad.

Monu Goyat was a part of the Patna Pirates in the past and enjoyed some great time with the franchise. On the other hand, Abhishek Singh scored 177 raid points for U Mumba. The franchise also retained Ankit Beniwal, who had a good season for the last time. Also, the combo of Rajneesh and Vinay makes the side even stronger. Overall, the team has some spectacular raiders this time who can win the games for their side.

Strong defence unit

Not only in the raiding department, but the team also has a strong defensive unit as well, with the inclusion of some greats like Surjeet Singh and Parvesh Bhainswal. Apart from them, the franchise has Ravinder Pahal and Vishal Bharadwaj as well. Surjeet Singh is one of the finest defenders in the league’s history with 331 tackle points to date. His experience can do wonders for the side in the upcoming season.

Ravinder and Parvesh had earlier played in the same team for the Gujarat Giants, and their combination could help the Titans regain their lost status. Vishal Bharadwaj had played for Telugu earlier and did well, so he would also be looking to give his best to the team. If all of them can give their best in the PKL 9, then this unit could become one of the most dangerous of this season.

Weaknesses

No major weaknesses can be seen in the Telugu Titans squad as both of the departments look well-settled. The only concern is the fitness of their players, as Siddharth Desai and Monu Goyat have been in the frame of injury over the past few seasons. Their fitness would be a matter to look out for. If they can play all the games, then no one can stop them from making it into the playoffs.

On the other hand, the team has a good number of backups as well, who can at anytime be asked to make it to the playing seven. Telugu Titans have a strong squad this time and their fans would expect them to finish on a high in the upcoming season.

Players to watch out for

Siddharth Desai will be the key player for the Telugu Titans. Apart from him, players like Abhishek Singh and Monu Goyat would be on everyone’s list of players to watch out for. In the defence unit, Vishal Bharadwaj and Ravinder Pahal are the players to watch out for.
