Bengaluru Bulls should retain these players in PKL next season

There are several figures that can retain their spot in the forthcoming season for the team.
Bengaluru Bulls delivered an impressive display in Season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). The outfit played 22 matches from which they won 11 and lost nine, while the other two ended in ties. In total, the side finished fifth in the overall standings and managed to get into the playoffs. However, the Bulls suffered defeat in the semi-finals and lost out on winning the PKL title for the second time.
Looking at the roster, only three players were impressive and did not disappoint the fans. Pawan Sehrawat, Saurabh Nandal and Aman left a major impression during the campaign. But, these players did not get the ideal support from the rest of their teammates. Pawan was the sole force in the raiding department, while the duo of Nandal and Aman performed in defence. The skipper gets huge credit for helping the team reach the semi-finals. Players like Mayur Kadam, Mahendra Singh and Chandran Ranjeet did not live up to expectations.
The next target for Bengaluru Bulls will be to figure out the squad for the upcoming season. To that end, the management must decide which players to retain, in order to have a better chance of winning the PKL. Let’s take a look at which players should be retained by the Bengaluru Bulls:
Pawan Sehrawat & Bharat should be retained as raiders
Pawan Sehrawat was in a league of his own, becoming the highest points scorer in PKL Season 8. In 24 matches, he scored 320 points. He led by example and took the team to the playoffs with his supreme raiding ability. His leadership qualities were particularly noteworthy. The raider has the quality to influence and change the complexion of any game on his own and should be retained by all means for the next season.
Another figure that deserves to continue in the team is Bharat. The young raider gave brilliant support to Pawan and proved himself as the raider to go to in the skipper’s absence. He managed 129 points in 23 matches against all odds. Due to his impressive performances and potential, Bharat is a good choice to retain for next season.
Saurabh Nandal & Aman must continue in defence
Bengaluru Bulls had a good defence in Season 8 of the PKL and the biggest credit for it goes to Saurabh Nandal. He gave a good account of himself by scoring 69 points in 24 matches. He was third in terms of scoring the most points by a defender. The player made six super tackles and two high-fives. His tackle rate was 56%, which shows the quality of the defender. The performance justifies the need for the outfit to retain him.
In addition to Nandal, Bengaluru Bulls should also consider retaining Aman next season. He can play a key role in the left corner position for the team. He scored 54 points in 23 matches and tried to give good support to Nandal in defence. His pace is a key asset as it makes any raider commit unforced errors.
