7:15 PM A total of 4 players were acquired on the first day of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 auctions. Puneri Paltan signed raider Mohit Goyat and left-cover defender Govind Gurjar. Right-cover defender Prince went to Telugu Titans. Lastly, all-rounder, Nitin Panwar was added to the armoury of U.P. Yoddha.

7:07 PM Nitin Panwar is an all-rounder. He will be aiming to create a similar impact like his young teammates Nitesh Kumar and Sumit for U.P. Yoddha.

7:05 PM Next it's the turn of U.P. Yoddha to go for another New Young Player. Nitin Panwar has been picked by the team.

7:03 PM Prince is a right cover defender. He will be another new face in PKL Season 8.

7:01 PM Telugu Titans are the next team to get in on the act. They have acquired the services of Prince.

6:58 PM Govind will strengthen the Pune-based franchise's defence and is predominantly a left cover.

6:55 PM Ohh it's Puneri Paltan again who have brought in another New Young Player. They have acquired the services of Govind Gurjar.

6:52 PM Mohit Goyat is a young raider and will be looking to shine in his debut appearance.

6:50 PM Puneri Paltan are the first team to go for a New Young Player today. They have acquired the services of Mohit Goyat.

Uncapped players who come through Mashal Sports’ Future Kabaddi Heroes scouting programme falls under the New Young Player or NYP category in the auction. This category comprises youngsters who have shown remarkable talent and skill in the sport.

Pro Kabaddi League teams can obtain a maximum of seven NYP category players. Teams can also retain NYP category players that played for them in the previous season before the auction - these players are called Retained Young Players (RYPs).

The much-anticipated Pro Kabaddi Player Auction is back with more excitement than ever. The bidding war starts soon. The opening day will witness the auction of the new players draft. This will include several young and promising players from India. Many of them will be aiming to leave their mark on the upcoming edition.

After the new young players draft on opening day, the second day will see overseas players and category A domestic players up for grabs. The third and final day will see the auction of categories B, C, D and unallocated players.

As such, it will be an enticing auction in which several top players will be up for grabs. Teams will be aiming to strengthen their squads with the acquisition of several big names. Bengal Warriors are the defending champions, having won their inaugural title in the year 2019.

The Pro Kabaddi League 2021 auction will be a three-day affair. It is starting on August 29 with more than 450 players set to go under the hammer in Mumbai. The 12 teams need to make up their respective squads for PKL Season 8. They have collectively released 161 players ahead of the new campaign.

Most of the released players have been added to the auction pool, which also has additions from the domestic field and the New Young Players. Players from the top eight ranked teams of the senior national kabaddi championships of the last two seasons and overseas players too make up the pool.
