Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 Winner Prediction

Mashal sports the organisers of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League 2022 (PKL) have announced the start date to be October 7, 2022. Pro Kabaddi League 2022, will comprise 66 matches which will be played by 12 teams from a period of October till mid December. The previous season ended earlier this year, with Dabang Delhi KC winning their maiden championship. The matches will be hosted in Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad, for the ninth season of the PKL.

PKL began with its first season in 2014 with Jaipur Pink Panthers winning the first season. In the subsequent seasons, U Mumba, Bengaluru Bulls and Bengal Warriors have all become the season winners with Patna Pirates winning 3 seasons back to back. Dabang Delhi just won the last season and this year the first face of the season will begin with a match of Dabang Delhi against U Mumba. 

However, there are still  six teams who have not yet won any season.  However, there are a handful of Kabbadi betting apps in India that have already started coming up with odds on who can be the winner of the season. According to the Asian operator Dafabet, the winning odds are quite much in favour of Patna Pirates with Telugu Titans, Dabang Delhi KC, Puneri Paltan and Tamil Thalaivas in neck to neck competition. 

According to the odds, Gujarat Titans and UP Yoddhas and Haryana Steelers still have very few chances to make it to the winning teams.  

Patna Pirates and Dabang Delhi KC have already lifted the trophy of PKL in previous seasons but let us see how strong are the other three contenders in the list. 

Strong Contenders for the PKL Season 9 Trophy First Time

Telugu Titans

Telugu Titans have been a part of the Pro Kabaddi League since 2014 and have qualified for the semi-finals twice, but they have never been able to make it to the final.

They did not show a very strong performance during the last season as their  main raiders Siddharth Desai and Rohit Kumar  missed a lot of matches due to injuries. The team owners have revamped the squad and the coaching staff ahead of Pro Kabaddi 2022. Manjeet Chhillar is the new assistant coach of Telugu Titans and he prepared an excellent strategy to make sure that Telugu Titans have a stellar squad for PKL season 9.

Puneri Paltan

Puneri Paltan has been an underperformer during the yester years of the PKL but maybe this is the season to rise and shine. Under coach Anup Kumar´s strategies Puneri Paltans have a strong chance of winning this season. He supports young talent and does not shy away from resting out the senior players. He is famous with the title of Captain Cool and never gets aggressive and always guides the team calmly even during moments of struggle. 

His player rotation startegy and making changes during the game based on performance and situation makes it hard for the opposition to generate a strategy. The team really performed well during the PKL season 8 and it is hopeful that with season 9 the team emerges even stronger. As they say and popularise their logo stands for “Khel Badlega”

Tamil Thalaivas

To start with, the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) team, Tamil Thalaivas,have signed a sponsorship deal with the sports news provider, DafaNews.

Tamil Thalaivas have also come up with a very strong and  tremendous team for the 9th season of PKL. This time their focus and strategy was to acquire quality players during the auction to win the title in the upcoming season. 

They have heavily invested on PKL’s most successful raider from the last three seasons, Pawan Kumar Sehrawat. Another strong contender that Tamil Thalaivas have retained this year is Sagar who was the second best defender last season. He took 83 tackle points last season, including eight high-5s. Tamil Thalaivas will have high hopes from him and he might prove to be a very dangerous defender and take them closer to the trophy,
