The second week of the competition saw players delivering some memorable performances.
The Pro Kabaddi League is up and running with a lot of fanfare and excitement. It is into the third week of Season 8 now, which is living up to expectations. All the outfits are vying for the points, which is leading to close matches and neck-and-neck contests. The past week’s action is symbolic of the fierceness of the competition this year and its unpredictability.
Looking back at the matches from the second week of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8, several individuals caught the eye with their incredible displays for their respective teams. The Team of the Week from the second week includes some high-profile names, who were in exceptional form on the Kabaddi mat.

Raiders
Naveen Kumar (Dabang Delhi)
Naveen Kumar was in exceptional form for Dabang Delhi in the past week. He scored a massive 24 points against Bengal Warriors, helping his team to a 52-35 win. The second encounter of the week saw Delhi come up against Tamil Thalaivas, where he managed another 15 points.
Although the match ended in a 30-30 draw, Kumar stood as the best player from either team. If the outfit are to achieve success this season, Naveen will be at the heart of it.
Pawan Kumar Sehrawat (Bengaluru Bulls)
The skipper of the Bengaluru Bulls, Pawan Sehrawat was in exceptional form as well. He is getting into his usual rhythm and scoring points through his raiding quality.
He scored 22 points in a 42-28 win over the Haryana Steelers. The raider then followed it up with an eight-point haul against Telugu Titans in a 34-34 draw. Sehrawat achieved another Super 10 by scoring 11 points against Puneri Paltan in a 40-29 win in the Pro Kabaddi League.
Maninder Singh (Bengal Warriors)
Bengal Warriors’ captain and star raider Maninder Singh was also in brilliant form. He scored 16 points in a one-man display during the 35-52 defeat to Dabang Delhi.
He scored another Super 10 with 12 points, but could not guide the team to win against the Patna Pirates. The third Super 10 of the week saw him score 13 points in a 31-28 win over Jaipur Pink Panthers.
All-rounders
Mohammadreza Chiyaneh (Patna Pirates)
Mohhammadreza Chiyaneh was in good form in the past week as well. The all-rounder plays his role well in the team and is strong in both defence and attack.
He provides good cover in both departments and did well against Telugu Titans and Bengal Warriors. Chiyaneh has scored 16 points in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 and will look to continue his good form in the upcoming weeks as well.
Jaideep (Haryana Steelers)
This is Jaideep’s debut season in the Pro Kabaddi League and he is making the most of the opportunity. The all-rounder was again an important player for the Haryana Steelers in both attack and defence.
His tackling prowess was noteworthy during the past week. The Steelers won one of their three games, but Jaideep was a standout all-rounder in them. He has scored 18 points in the tournament so far.
Defenders
Surender Nada (Haryana Steelers)
Surender Nada is one of the most experienced defenders in the league and he showed his qualities in the past week too. He had a 75% success in tackling against U Mumba, although the match ended in a well-fought draw. He scored three points against Gujarat Giants in a 38-36 win, where each point was vital for either side.
Sumit (UP Yoddha)
Sumit delivered impressive performances as well while playing for UP Yoddha. This is his second season in the division and the defender is becoming a major part of the outfit’s defence.
More importantly, Sumit scored six tackle points against U Mumba where his strike rate was a huge 86%. Thanks to the defender’s performance, the Yoddhas were able to secure a 28-28 draw.
