They face Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers respectively.
Vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season 8’s double-header on Tuesday will see three-time champions Patna Pirates take on Puneri Paltan, followed by Telugu Titans’ match against struggling Haryana Steelers.
Patna have impressed in the first two outings of the Pro Kabaddi League season 8 despite losing in a last-minute raid to UP Yoddha in their previous match. The men in green have looked like a well-oiled team despite losing their talisman and star raider Pardeep Narwal in vivo PKL auctions.
Puneri Paltan, under the watchful eyes of coach Anup Kumar, have looked like a surprise package in the tournament. Raider Nitin Tomar’s injury might be a concern for the Pune side who lack high-scoring attackers. But in Mohit Goyat and Aslam Inamdar they have found two key game-changers. Considering the lack of stars, the game might well be decided on which defensive unit performs best on the night in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 8.
Can Vikash inspire Steelers?
Haryana Steelers haven’t been able to replicate their top form for Pro Kabaddi League Season 7, losing their first matches in the ongoing league. Much will once again depend on their star raider Vikash Khandola who scored 14 points against Jaipur but wasn’t enough to help then win.
Vikash and Rohit Gulia will need to produce a high scoring game if they are to stop Telugu Titans. Siddharth Desai seems to have found his best form but sadly for the Titans he did pick up a shoulder injury in their previous match against Puneri Paltan. The lack of a strong second raider will also be a problem for coach Jagdish Kumble. Captain Rohit Kumar looked sluggish on the mat despite starting while Rajnish Dalal, who impressed in the first match, wasn’t part of the team against Pune.
Both matches will be played at The Sheraton Grand, Whitefield Bengaluru – the fixed venue for Season 8 of VIVO Pro Kabaddi League.
