The 11th season of Pro Kabaddi League started from October 18. On the second day of the PKL 11, last season’s finalist Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers are set to meet.

Puneri Paltan beat Haryana Steelers 28-25 in the stirring final of Pro Kabaddi League Season 10. It was last year’s final that saw the coming of age of a rivalry between both teams which had been building up for the last few years.

Puneri Paltan, a founding member of the Pro Kabaddi League since 2014, finished runners-up in Season 9 and claimed their first title in Season 10. Haryana Steelers, who joined the league in 2017, made a huge leap in Season 10 as they reached their first final.

The teams’ contrasting playing styles add an interesting dimension to their matchups. Puneri Paltan employs a perfectly balanced approach that combines solid raiding and good defence. Haryana Steelers, on the other hand, have played with a raid-oriented approach, and their defence has been improving steadily.

This could be seen in their Pro Kabaddi League 11 Season 10 statistics, where Puneri Paltan had earned 96 points with a +253 score difference, whereas Haryana Steelers had 70 points and a -13 score difference.

Some players have been instrumental in shaping this rivalry in the Pro Kabaddi League. For Puneri Paltan, Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat took the charge of raiding department as he tallied 159 and 140 points respectively in Season 10. Haryana Steelers responded with Siddharth Desai and Vinay, who tallied 125 and 122 raid points respectively, and Jaideep Dahiya, who tallied 75 tackle points.
