UP Yoddhas vs Puneri Paltan: All time Head-to-Head record in Pro Kabaddi
Puneri Paltan are coming into this match after being winless in three Pro Kabaddi matches.
UP Yoddhas will face defending champions Puneri Paltan for the second time in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) in match 97, set to take place at the Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune.
The UP Yoddhas have had an inconsistent season but seem to be finding their form. With eight wins from 16 matches, they are currently in fourth place in the PKL 11 standings. Their most recent fixture saw them secure a hard-fought 32-32 draw against Dabang Delhi, further boosting their confidence.
The team switched back to the tried and tested partnership of Bhavani Rajput and Bharat Hooda after trying a few options in the raiding department, such as Gagan Gowda, Shivam Chaudhary, and Keshav Kumar. The Yoddhas now play with just two raiders starting for them and five defenders in Pro Kabaddi League 2024.
The duo of Hitesh and Sumit have been the only two consistent defenders for the GMR-owned franchise in the season so far.

Puneri Paltan, on the other hand, will be hoping for a change in fortunes under their newly appointed coach Ashok Shinde. After parting ways with coach BC Ramesh, who has taken up a new role as team advisor, Puneri Paltan are currently in eighth place with seven wins from 16 matches. They have struggled recently, winning only two of their last nine matches in PKL 11, and will be aiming to turn their season around.
The defending champions lost their captain and previous season’s most valuable player (MVP), Aslam Inamdar, to an injury during the match against the Telugu Titans in the final match of the Hyderabad leg of PKL 11.
The likes of Pankaj Mohite, Mohit Goyat, and Akash Shinde still provide enough quality raiding options and the likes of Gaurav Khatri, Aman, and Abinesh Nadarajan are some of the best defenders in the Pro Kabaddi League 2024. A win against the Yoddhas would reinstil the lost belief back into the team and help them stay in the hunt for a place in the knockout stages of the tournament.
