Telugu Titans have been one of the most promising sides to watch in Pro Kabaddi 2024. Titans have won the hearts of the fans with their performance in every match so far and also proved the changes made in the auction right.

Titans have done well enough to become one of the favourites to lift the trophy in PKL 11. They have been in a different mood altogether this season and have made everyone take note of their performances. Despite a rough start to the season, they have bounced back big time and are placed fourth on the table with 49 points.

1. Hunger for success 

Telugu Titans are one of the few PKL teams that have not had a chance to lift the trophy in the history of the league. They have been highly inconsistent over the past few seasons and have made it to the playoffs just twice in ten editions. Titans finished at the bottom of the table for three consecutive seasons coming in PKL 11.

They have been in the playoffs twice and have finished in the lower half of the standings in the remaining eight editions. But, this season with a renewed spirit and a well-structured squad, they are hungry for success. They know the feeling of hitting rock bottom and are ever so motivated to turn their fortunes around with a memorable performance this season. 

2. Ability to perform without Pawan Sehrawat

Titans raised a lot of eyebrows ahead of the start of the season for relying heavily on their skipper Pawan Sehrawat. The Indian captain was brought in by Titans as the most expensive player in the history of the league ahead of PKL 10.

Pawan is a serial winner and has dropped in great performances everywhere he has gone.  Sehrawat was the league’s third-highest scorer last season even though the Titans finished at the bottom of the table. 

But, what has changed this season is the Telugu Titans’ ability to perform without him. He has missed a lot of games due to an injury this season, but the Titans did not let his absence affect their run of form and continued to win games with convincing displays.

With Vijay Malik taking over the captaincy and raiding duties, they have done fairly well, although there have been some hiccups on the way. It’s safe to say that they are no longer dependent on Pawan Sehrawat and can function perfectly with or without him.

3. Vijay Malik’s run of form

Vijay Malik has emerged as the messiah for the Telugu Titans. He has surpassed all the expectations and has performed against all odds. Malik has single-handedly silenced all his critics after a couple of underwhelming seasons with Dabang Delhi and UP Yoddhas. He is well on course to recording his best-ever season in the league with his talismanic performances for the Titans.

Malik is a tough opposition to deal with and is known for his versatility and ability to contribute on both ends of the mat. He has stepped up to the occasion perfectly and has filled in the void left by Pawan Sehrawat. The all-rounder has taken Telugu Titans over the line on multiple occasions with his splendid displays on the mat. He has scored 127 raid points with his exceptional raiding abilities.
