Season seven champions, Bengal Warriorz have been headlined more often during the pre-season. With the appointment of new coach Prashant Surve and in the auction, they hired two of the most experienced defenders Fazel Atrachali and Nitesh Kumar. Also, they spent big bucks on young Arjun Rathi who came from the Yuva Kabaddi series.

But nothing has translated onto the mat, as they are having a season to forget. The defenders have done well in parts, but they have failed to exert pressure throughout the game. Inconsistency in the raiding department is the headlining factor, as the likes of Sushil Kambrekar and Nitin Dhankar were lost to injuries while doing well.

Maninder Singh seemed to have lost his might as teams weren’t troubled by him. The story is the same for Tamil Thalaivas as their talismanic raiders Sachin Tanwar and Narender Kandola have also failed to live up to the expectations.
