Telugu Titans vs U Mumba: All time Head-to-Head record in Pro Kabaddi

U Mumba has a five-win lead over Telugu Titans in the Pro Kabaddi League.

Telugu Titans will be keen to continue their momentum in the Pro Kabaddi League as they face the 2nd place U Mumba in match 66. Both the teams are coming off a win, Titans without their star raider Pawan Sehrawat pulled off a heist against the league leaders Haryana Steelers to climb up to 7th place.

Meanwhile, U Mumba defeated Bengaluru Bulls in an edge-of-the-seat thriller which pushed them to 2nd place on the PKL 11 table.

That being said, history has been vastly different for both sides after being part of the inaugural season. U Mumba have been one of the most successful teams in the league with one title and two runner-up finishes on the other hand Telugu Titans have failed to get off the blocks despite early promise.

The Mumbai side quickly went about establishing themselves as real superpowers, reaching three consecutive finals in the Pro Kabaddi League from 2014 to 2016. The golden period of the team was under coach Bhaskaran Edachery when they had an incredible win rate of 71.88% between 2014-2017. They won their only title in Season 2 as they triumphed over Bengaluru Bulls in the final.

Telugu Titans showed early potential by making playoffs in Pro Kabaddi League Seasons 2 and 4, but their performance has declined sharply since then. Their worst period began in Season 8 when they won just one match out of 22 games. The team has finished last in the league for three straight seasons.Both teams have approached team building a bit differently. U Mumba, while maintaining a constant core group of players have made smart signings. They have had six head coaches in ten seasons which also helped them in consistency.

Titans have, however, struggled with frequent squad changes. After their horrible run in Season 8, the team released most players-including star raider Siddharth Desai.

The rivalry peaked in Pro Kabaddi League Season 2 when both teams made the playoffs with U Mumba finishing first and Titans third in the league stage. But since then, their paths have diverged dramatically – U Mumba regularly competing for playoff spots while Titans struggle to avoid last place.
