UPKL: Awadh Ramdoots secured narrow win against Noida Ninjas, Day 7 report
Fabulous kabaddi action was observed on another entertaining day from the league.
The inaugural season of the UP Kabaddi League (UPKL) has been a wonderful spectacle of high-level kabaddi action. It was another action-packed day in the UPKL as four matches took place on 17 July 2024 at the Noida Indoor Stadium in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Lucknow Lions continued their unbeaten start to the season while Kashi Kings recorded a win with a huge margin of points. Awadh Ramdoots and Yamuna Yoddhas also tasted victories that gave their fans reasons to rejoice.
As curtains fell on another memorable round of matches from the 2024 UP Kabaddi League, here is a brief look at the results:
UPKL Match 25: Sangam Challengers 31 – 43 Lucknow Lions
Lucknow Lions continued their sensational start to the 2024 UPKL with a seventh win in a row. They defeated the Sangam Challengers by a 43 – 31 scoreline. Arjun Deshwal of the Lions entertained the crowd with a whopping 21 points while Bhanu Pratap Tomor scored 18 points, emerging as the highest scorer for the Challengers.
This win took the Lucknow Lions to 35 points on the league table. It is the only outfit to win every game of the season.
UPKL Match 26: Brij Stars 28 – 59 Kashi Kings
Kashi Kings performed extremely well to record a 59-28 point win over the Brij Stars. Sushant Chaudhary and Sunny Kumar both scored seven points for the Kings in a display which saw every player of the team contribute to the overall score. As for the Stars, Robin Chaudhary scored 19 points but did not get the support of the rest of the teammates.
Kashi Kings secured its second consecutive win at the 2024 UP Kabaddi League by defeating the Brij Stars. Their collective effort earned them a lot praise from the fans and the neutrals.
UPKL Match 27: Awadh Ramdoots 48 – 47 Noida Ninjas
Awadh Ramdoots narrowly got the better of Noida Ninjas in the closest result from Wednesday at the 2024 UPKL in Noida. In the end, the score read 48-47, with only one point separating the two sides.
Krishan Mavi stood out and scored 18 points for the Awadh Ramdoots while Kunal Bhati’s 17-point display was not enough to secure the win. The Ninjas lost the match despite having more raid points (34 to 29) and equal tackle points (11) as the Ramdoots.
UPKL Match 28: Ganga Kings of Mirzapur 33 – 38 Yamuna Yoddhas
Ganga Kings of Mirzapur and Yamuna Yoddhas also played a closely fought game on Wednesday. Eventually, Yamuna Yoddhas won the contest by a 38 – 33 scoreline. Anil Kumar (14) was the highest scorer for the Kings of Mirzapur while Vinay (13) scored the most points for the Yodhas.
Thanks to the win, Yamuna Yoddhas forged a stronger hold on the second place in the league table with 26 points, five more than the third-placed team.
