Ultimate Kho Kho: Yoddhas look to finish league phase in style
The Juggernauts will look to stay on the top of the table.
Fresh out of a thrilling 67 points win along with registering multiple records to their name last night, Telugu Yoddhas – the GMR Group-owned franchisee will take the mat riding high on confidence in their upcoming clash against table toppers Odisha Juggernauts tomorrow. After registering the highest ever winning score of 88 points and highest Dream Run points (26) in a single match by any team in the Ultimate Kho Kho league so far against second-placed Gujarat Giants that also included a record-breaking single Dream Run of 16 points while booking their playoff spot is what would add up to their confidence as they gear up to face Odisha Juggernauts tomorrow. Telugu Yoddhas are now placed third with 16 points to their kitty on the points table. The Match will be broadcast LIVE & Exclusive on Sony Sports Network and LIVE streamed on the Sony LIV platform from 8:45 PM onwards on 31st August 2022 (Wednesday).
Ahead of the match, Sumit Bhatia, Head Coach, Telugu Yoddhas said, “We are happy about our performance yesterday, but now we have to look to our game tomorrow. We are taking on the number 1 team in the league till now and all we will look forward to is a memorable and errorless performance. The game of Kho-Kho is unpredictive and nothing is permanent, and that’s something that we have experienced closely so all I can assure our fans is that we as a team will take the mat to give in our best efforts and I am sure we will be able to display our quality on the mat tomorrow as well against Odisha Juggernauts.”
Odisha have the upper hand
With the highest Total Team Points (519), Team Attacking Points (417), Team Defending Points (72) and most number of times All Out taken (4), Telugu Yoddhas may not be placed first on the points table but they have created some records to their name in the inaugural season that till now looks unattainable by any other team. Avdhut Patil who acrobatically dodged the opponent attackers and spent 6 minutes in a single run, therefore gifted his side the highest ever ‘16 pointer Dream Run’ could be a possible threat to Odisha. While Pratik Waikar, Sachin Bhargo, Rohan Singhade, Arun Gunki and Deepak Madhav of Telugu Yoddhas have performed consistently in the league so far.
The last time both the teams locked horns against each other was 2 days back when Odisha Juggernauts got the upper hand as they defeated Telugu Yoddhas by 48-39. The match will invoke a lot of fan support and thrill as Telugu Yoddhas who represent the Telugu-speaking region will take on the mat against the number one team of the Ultimate Kho-Kho League with renewed vigour after creating history yesterday.
