Sohail Khan will be competing in Adult -250 PI Men’s category in Eurasian Cup 2024.

International Kudo athlete Sohail Khan, widely celebrated as the “Golden Boy of Madhya Pradesh,” is gearing up to represent India at the prestigious Eurasian Cup 2024. This highly anticipated event will take place in Yerevan, Armenia, from October 16th to 19th at the Mika Sport Center. Featuring top athletes from across the continent, the Eurasian Cup will showcase some of the most competitive matches in the sport of Kudo.

Under the guidance of his coach, Dr. Mohammad Aijaz Khan, Sohail has been training intensively for the tournament. Sohail will be competing in the Adult -250 PI Men’s category, where he will begin his campaign in the Round of 32 on October 19th. His selection to represent India comes after an outstanding performance at the national trials in Pune this past August, where his expertise and dominance secured him a coveted spot on the Indian team.

A 19-time national gold medalist, Khan is no stranger to success on the international stage. He claimed the Junior World Championship title in Kudo in 2017 and was a quarterfinalist at the 2023 Senior World Championships. His wealth of experience makes him one of the top contenders for a podium finish at the Eurasian Cup.

The tournament will officially kick off with the weigh-ins on October 18th, followed by the Round of 32 on October 19th. With a tightly packed schedule, subsequent rounds—Round of 16 and 8—will take place the same day, ensuring a day full of action-packed competition. The semifinals and finals are scheduled for October 20th, with the event culminating in a grand closing ceremony on October 21st.

My goal is to raise the Indian flag high and stand atop the podium with pride. I’m determined to make this moment count for my country.”

Representing India in a competition of this scale is no small feat, and Khan is approaching it with the mindset of a champion.
