The historic event will stream globally on Netflix.
The countdown is over for MMA fans as Most Valuable Promotion (MVP) is all set for their inaugural MMA event headlined by Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano. Netflix’s first-ever live MMA broadcast on May 16 will emanate from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Rousey last competed in MMA under the UFC banner in 2016, while Carano stepped away from the sport after her most recent fight in 2009 to focus on her Hollywood career.
Now, years after leaving MMA behind, the two are set to return to combat sports for a highly anticipated showdown that has generated significant buzz among fans.
While the main event will see Rousey and Carano both make their MMA return, the rest of the card also features rising stars as well as former Champions from UFC and ONE Championship.
The co-main event will feature Nate Diaz vs Mike Perry, two former UFC stars. Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou is also featured on the card, in a Heavyweight bout against Philipe Lins. Another former UFC Champion, Junior dos Santos, is also set to compete on the main card.
Former ONE Champion, Adriano Moraes, who was earlier set to face the undefeated standout from Britain, Muhammad Mokaev, will face Phumi Nkuta due to visa issues that prevented Mokaev from traveling.
The main card streams on Netflix from 8:00 PM ET (Sat), 11:00 PM BST (Sat), and 3:30 AM IST (Sun), while the prelims for the event will begin from 6:00 PM ET (Sat) / 11:00 PM BST (Sat), and 3:30 AM IST (Sun) on TUDUM & MVP’s YouTube channel.
While all the bouts have a sense of unpredictability to them, BetOnline.ag has provided the latest betting odds for the historic event, which give an idea about oddsmakers’ picks for the winners, so let’s have a look at them.
