National Games 2023: Pranati Nayak, Sanyukta Kale shine in gymnastics with three gold medals each

Maharashtra dominated Modern Pentathlon medal tally with five gold medals each.
Sanyukta Kale of Maharashtra and Pranati Nayak of Odisha shone in the gymnastic arena, securing their third gold medals each, while Maharashtra dominated the Modern Pentathlon medal tally with five gold medals in the National Games 2023.
Rhythmic gymnast Sanyukta Kale won her third gold medal, and Rahil Pakhle secured the women's trampoline gold as Maharashtra continued to dominate gymnastics events at the Peddem Indoor Sports Complex. Sanyukta, who had previously won the rhythmic team and all-around gold medals, clinched the hoop gold, making it three golds in total.
Artistic gymnast Pranati Nayak, who had won gold in the individual all-around category the day before, topped the podium in the vaulting table and uneven bars, bringing her individual gold tally to three.
Yogeshwar Singh of Haryana won his second gold medal of the games in the Men's Floor exercise competition. Manipur secured two gold medals in gymnastics, while Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh opened their gold medal tally in the sport.
In the Triathle event of Modern Pentathlon, Maharashtra achieved a clean sweep, winning all five gold medals on offer. Mayank Chaphekar and Dolly Patil won three gold medals each.
In the weightlifting events at the Campal Sports Village, Nitek Jangid of Rajasthan secured the first gold for his state in this edition of the National Games in the Men's 81 Kg weightlifting competition. In the Women's 71 Kg category, Punjab's Harjinder Kaur lifted an aggregate weight of 201 Kg to win the gold medal. In the Men's 89 Kg category, Gaurav of Chandigarh secured gold by just one kilogram, with a total lift of 319 Kg.
In Netball at the Campal Indoor Stadium, Haryana completed a clean sweep, winning all four gold medals on offer. In Men's Fast 5, Haryana beat Goa 33-22, and in Women's Fast 5, Haryana defeated Punjab 40-15.
In Women's Rugby 7s, Odisha beat Bihar 12-7 to defend their title, while Haryana beat Maharashtra 14-0 to win the gold. In fencing, Punjab secured the gold in the Women's Sabre Team event, with Kerala settling for silver due to an injury. In Men's Individual Sabre, K.P Gishonidhi of SSCB won the gold.
In Men's Epee Individual, Sunil Kumar clinched the gold. The Modern Pentathlon events saw Maharashtra achieve a clean sweep, winning all gold medals in the Triathle Women Team and Mixed Relay categories. In Pencak Silat, Krishna Panchal of Maharashtra won the gold in the Artistic Tunggal Men's category, while Simran from Haryana won the gold in Artistic Tunggal Women's. Maharashtra secured the gold in Artistic Regu Men, and Delhi won the gold in Artistic Regu Women.
In Women's Football, Manipur beat Jharkhand 5-1, and Tamil Nadu drew with West Bengal 0-0 in Pool A.
