Back in the I-league after three years, Churchill Brothers have roped in Adil Khan and Denzil Franco. The transfer formalities were completed at the club's headquarters in Varca.

Adil is excited to wear Churchill’s colours and said, “I am very much excited after joining Churchill Brothers. After the withdrawal of three Goan clubs from the I-league, Churchill are the only club from Goa to be in the top tier league of the country. I feel proud to be a part of them. I am very happy as I will be playing in the league after a gap of two years.”

He also requested Goan football lovers to support them. “It is not only Churchill Brothers but we will represent entire Goa and we will love to see fans coming to support us at the stadium from every part of Goa.” Adil said.

Adil took his football lessons at Sesa Football Academy and passed out in 2008. Later, he joined Sporting Clube de Goa and spent five seasons with them. He was famous for his clinical performances and also scored some spectacular goals to help them to grab all three points. Following his brilliant performance in the 2013 season, Adil got a national call-up in the same year. The defensive midfielder made his debut against Azerbaijan. He has also played for Mohun Bagan and Kalyani Bharat FC in the I-League, while he was the part of Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League's inaugural season in 2014 and appeared in seven matches.

Franco, who is also a product of Sesa FA started his career with Salgaocar in 2008 before moving to Mumbai in 2009, where he played a season with Mahindra United. Then he joined local club Churchill Brothers, where he won the I-league in the 2012-13 season and Federation Cu in the next season with the same club. He has also won the ISL with Atletico de Kolkata in the inaugural season.

Franco is happy after signing for his old club and wants to give his best. He said, “It feels really great. I feel like coming back home. Churchill Brothers is like my home and I will give my best to help my club to be amongst the top.”
