The players did what they needed to do- Mohammedan Technical Director Raghu Nandi

The Black Panthers will be facing Aryan in their next game of the Calcutta Football League.
Raghu Nandi has admitted that his side did not played to their best abilities in Sunday evening’s 1-0 win over Food Corporation of India, and the Black Panthers technical director commends his players gusty performance against Aryan Club in their second 2018/19 Calcutta Premier Division ‘A’ fixture on Wednesday at Barasat Stadium.
It took an 80th-minute goal from forward Prosenjit Chakraborty to secure victory for Mohammedan Sporting Club and Nandi admits his team were not at their best, but they did what needed to be done in order to get a result.
“If I am being very honest, I thought our performance in the first half was quite controlled but very lacklustre. We did not pass the ball well enough,” said Nandi.
“It got better in the second half. I thought we had good control of the game in the second half. I was relieved when FCI did not held on to a draw. They were difficult to break down. The players did what they needed to do.”
“When we brought in Amrirul and Rahul, we started playing between the lines. Our movement was better with Amrirul coming in and Rahul played a few good balls behind the back lines. The three points are good to have, but in terms of our performances, the players know that was not our best and we need to get better,” he added.
When he asked about playing their second match in just 48 hours he said: “As a big club you have to give good performances week in week out. The players know we have seven days of hard work, so it will not be physical hard work, but psychological hard work.”
Speaking about the striker Princewill Emeka, who looked out of place for most of the evening at Barasat, Nandi said: “Prince is not ready for this yet, he needs a few more games to get back in shape.”
Interestingly, Aryan Club is coached by none other but Nandi’s own son Rajdeep Nandi, so it be interesting to see who wins family bragging rights come kick-off.
