Confident Delhi seek home win to cement playoffs spot
Visitors FC Goa will be out to salvage pride after a disappointing campaign…
Delhi Dynamos can all but seal a place in the playoffs with a win over visiting FC Goa when the two teams clash at the capital’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday.
Delhi Dynamos coach Gianluca Zambrotta is aware that it would be foolish to ignore FC Goa’s challenge in their quest for a semi-final berth just because they are at the bottom in Hero Indian Super League.
The two outfits couldn’t be in a more contrasting run of form coming into this one although both have lost their respective last games. Delhi are fourth in the table, while the Goans are at the foot of the standings after suffering their seventh defeat of the season at home to Atletico de Kolkata.
The hosts have no major injuries concerns or suspensions ahead of this one and will ghave a fully fit squad to pick from. Striker Richard Gadze who missed the last game against Pune is in line for a return. Badara Badji has also served his suspension after being sent off against ATK.
For Goa, striker Reinaldo and midfielders Sanjay Balmuchu and Denzil Franco missed the previous match and remained doubtful for this one.
Head to Head
Goa hold the edge in the head-to-head between these two teams with five wins to Delhi's two. There have been no draws and the game has produced three goals on average. When these two teams met in Goa a few weeks ago it finished in a comfortable 0-2 for the Dynamos.
