Delhi host cellar dwellers Pune in ISL

The hosts will be keen to get back to winning ways against the struggling Stallions...

Delhi Dynamos host bottom placed FC Pune City in an Indian Super League match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Thursday.

Delhi are without a win in four after thrashing Chennaiyin FC 1-3 in their opening game and suffered their first defeat last time out against Atletico de Kolkata in a 1-0 reversal. Pune also have just one win in the same number of games, that coming in the 1-2 success at Goa. The Stallions drew 1-1 against the Machans the last time out.

Team News

The Dynamos have a fully fit squad to pick from with entre-back Anas Edathodika also back in training. Kean Lewis may also make a comeback in to the starting XI.

For the visitors midfielder Pitu could return after a week’s absence with injury while winger Lenny Rodrigues is also back. Pune too have no other concerns going into this one.

Head to Head

The Dynamos have dominated this fixture in the previous two editions of the completion with three wins from the four games. Pune have failed to beat them in the ISL so far with the other game ending in a draw.

Man to Watch

Richard Gadze-Delhi Dynamos: The Ghanaian has been a handful in the last few games using his physical attributes to be a constant nuisance for defenders. The trend continued in their last game against ATK when the bulky frontman put himself about making life awkward for the Bengal Tigers’ back four and creating a few chances to which he failed to convert. The Stallions have failed to keep a clean sheet so far this season and Gadze will fancy his chances of getting a goal or two against them.

Mohamed Sissoko- FC Pune City: The ISL’s youngest marquee player, Sissoko has been one of the few bright sparks in another season of gloom for the Pune outfit. He presents a physical presence in the middle of the park and has adapted well after being drafted in as a late replacement. If Pune are to upset Delhi he will once again have to be on top form.

Probable Line-ups

Delhi Dynamos: Antonio Doblas Santana(GK), Rupert Nongrum, Rubén González Rocha, Chinglesana Konsham Singh, Souvik Chakraborty, Lalchhawnkima, Milan Singh, Marcos Tébar, Florent Malouda(C), Richard Gadze, Marcelo Leite Pereira.

FC Pune City: Apoula Edima Edel Bete(GK), Rahul Shankar Bheke, Eduardo Ferreira, Dharmaraj Ravanan, Narayan Das, Jonatan Lucca, Sanju Pradhan, Arata Izumi, Mohamed Sissoko(C), Dramane Traore, Jesus Rodriguez Tato.
