Turquoise Female Autonomy, Blue Bodily Integrity and Silver Self-Determination registered wins on Day 2 of the Discover Football Women’s Fesival 2017 played at Duler Football Stadium, Mapusa Goa earlier today.

In the day’s first match, Turquoise FA registered a hard fought 1-0 win over Ebony Equal Opportunity. After a goalless first half, Karishma Shirvoikar scored the only goal of the match in the dying minutes of the second session. Ebony’s Sankita Lakra, Ishita Nagpal and Sushmita Lepcha tried their luck from the edge of the box but keeper Saba Parveen was too strong to beat under the goalpost. Localocal girl Vailanka D’Souza played an important role in Turquoise`s win.

In the second match, Blue BI scripted an easy 6-1 win over Crimson Mutual Consent. The Blues opened their tally through Yashika Deshmukh in the very first minutes. Harpreet Kaur found Yashika with a perfect through ball in the box and she made no mistake from close range to make it 1-0 for her side. A minute later, Yashika had another chance to double their lead but this time Crimson’s keeper Afifa Ahmed blocked her in a one-on-one situation. However a few minutes later, Tenzin Yangchen made it 2-0 for Blue BI.

Yashika was in action again when she dribbled past two defenders and calmly finished the chance making it 3-0 for her side. At the other end, Isha Washmikar reduced the margin for the Crimsons with a superb finish off Navita Kooteri’s short pass in the box. Yashika scored three more goals in the second session making the margin 6-1 for the Blues, while she also completed her hat-trick.
