Fantasy Premier League: Best XI for Gameweek 3
The likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette need to step up this week.
VAR proved to be the villain again for Manchester City against Tottenham as Spurs battled with heart to prevent the defending champions from getting three points in a wildly entertaining 2-2 draw. Liverpool overcame Southampton while Arsenal got the better of Burnley at the Emirates. Both Chelsea and Manchester United had to settle with a point each as they were left frustrated by Leicester and Wolves respectively.
Gameweek 2 Review - 55 Points
A highly productive week. Captain Sadio Mane was the top scorer getting an amazing 26 points. Joshua King and Anthony Martial scored in their respective fixtures gaining 6 and 7 points respectively. Hugo Lloris’ valiant efforts earned him three points while Jamaal Lascelles got only one point in the loss against Norwich. Bernardo Silva, Raul Jimenez, Harry Kane, Andrew Robertson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Patrick van Aanholt got two points each. The team finished comfortably above the average points total of 41.
Gameweek 3 Transfers
Jesus Vallejo looks likely to be playing in continental tournaments for Wolves rather than the Premier League. He is transferred out. Top choices include Chris Mepham and John Lundstram. However, defence-friendly Burnley’s Erik Pieters is chosen to replace the former Real Madrid man.
Georginio Wijnaldum’s lack of productivity is also hurting the system. Daniel Ceballos is chosen to replace him. The Arsenal man was stunning in the second gameweek notching up two assists against Burnley.
Gameweek 3 Line-up
3-4-3 is the preferred system. Hugo Lloris starts in goal ahead of Tom Heaton. In defense, Andrew Robertson, Kyle Walker and new signing Erik Pieters start. Patrick van Aanholt and Jamaal Lascelles who face Manchester United and Tottenham respectively are moved to the bench.
Hamza Choudhury sits out from the midfield. Sadio Mane, Anthony Martial, Bernardo Silva and new-boy Daniel Ceballos get the opportunity to start. In attack, Joshua King, Harry Kane and Raul Jimenez start. Harry Kane is the captain for the week while Anthony Martial dons the vice-captain role.

For Arsenal, it is a quick and sudden test for their new foundation while for Liverpool, a victory could give the rest of the league a reminder about the mighty Klopp’s men from last season.
Norwich and Teemu Pukki welcome Lampard’s young Chelsea to Carrow Road while Crystal Palace visit Manchester United. Bournemouth will have the heavy task of stopping the City juggernaut while Tottenham will aim to pile up the misery on Steve Bruce’s Newcastle.
