FC Bardez came from two goals down to hold Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim to a high scoring 2-2 draw in the Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium earlier today.

Cavelossim who had won their last match against Panjim Footballers made changes to their side as their coach Severino Fernandes brought in Aaron Antao and Allwyn Vaz in the starting XI, whereas Bardez coach Climax Lawrence also few changes to their side which lost to Guardian Angel SC in the last match as Joyson D’Souza, Ronil Azavedo and Krishnanath Shirodkar found their names in the starting XI.

Cavelossim started the match on an attacking note and came close to scoring in the very 40th seconds of the match when Moises D’Sa tried his luck from the distance but his goalbound strike was nicely blocked by Bardez keeper David Chauhan.

Cavelossim opened their account in the 10th minutes when Moises easily stole the ball from Bardez defender Lalbabu Matho and released it to onrushing striker Mathew Colaco in the box who blasted it into the empty goal to make it 1-0 for his side.

A few minutes later, Bardez striker Stany Braganza was in the commanding position to equalise for his team after receiving a perfect pass from Ronil but the frontman failed to put shot in his strike from point-blank range as Cavelossim keeper Razak Devsor easily collected the same.

At the other end, Cavelossim doubled their lead in the 36th minutes, when Moises intercepted Lalbabu’s back pass and made through pass to Allwyn who made no mistake to beat the keeper David from his last touch to make it 2-0 for the South Goan Club.

Bardez had a chance to reduce their margin when they were awarded a free-kick just outside the box but Inacio Colaco’s goalbound shot was nicely fisted over the crossbar by Cavelossim keeper Razak.
