East Bengal continue to shoot in the dark, set to replace Bazzou with Kromah

The Red and Gold arre still reeling from the loss in the Kolkata Derby and are working hard to strengthen the squad to salvage their title challenge.
When East Bengal supporters were waiting for a quick replacement for Trinidadian striker Willis Plaza, club officials have made a surprise call by deciding to release the underperforming Bazzou Armand with the replacement for Plaza yet to be named.
They are set to sign Mohun Bagan’s former Liberian forward Ansumana Kromah who was released by the Mariners two weeks ago due to a string of poor performances. East Bengal are yet to announce his name officially as he was already registered as a Bagan player before in I-league this season and as per AIFF rules a single player cannot play for two different I-League clubs until his previous registration is cancelled. As such, the club are awaiting confirmation from the AIFF Bagan to rubber stamp the move.
But ,why Kromah? you my ask. The Red and God are set to miss the services of their star playmaker Mahmoud Al-Amnah for around three weeks due to a hamstring tear, so the officials along with the team management thought of getting a similar player in that position who can get accustomed to the team easily keeping in mind a very tough and important fixture ahead against table-toppers Minerva Punjab.
The Liberian has been a known face to Indian football for the last three years. He opened his account for Peerless SC in the Calcutta Football League before making a move to Churchill Brothers last season and to Mohun Bagan this season. He had a terrific season for Churchill helping them finish in the sixth position after a horrible start to the season. He was excellent for Bagan in the CFL and then was the best player for the Mariners in the Sikkim Gold Cup.
He started off pretty well in the I-league but a hamstring injury put an end to the flow he had thus resulting in the poor form which saw him get released from Bagan. But, now he is fit and already playing matches in local football which is popularly known as ‘khep’.
Meanwhile, the move for Rafael Ramazotti who was the frontrunner to replace Plaza is also under cloud as he is suffering from a knee injury which is yet to recover fully.
