Tutu Bose slams 'immoral' dismissal of Mohun Bagan executive Debashish Dutta
Kashinath Das has been appointed to replace the club's departing financial secretary.
In a dramatic turn of events, Mohun Bagan official Swapan Sadhan Bose (Tutu Bose) has dubbed the belated acceptance of Financial Secretary Debashish Dutta’s resignation letter as ‘immoral.’
Dutta submitted his resignation letter earlier this month along with another official Srinjoy Bose. Later at a press conference, he stated that he had never ‘formally’ resigned as he had signed cheques for the club in the period between submitting his resignation letter and the press conference.

Pointing to this particular chain of events Bose said, “In the manner the finance secretary, an elected official was removed yesterday was immoral and unwelcoming.”
While elaborating on the subject, Mohun Bagan Secretary Anjan Mitra revealed that Dutta failed to show up in executive committee meetings multiple times. As a result, he was served with a notice which did not receive any answer from the official. “We had no other way other than accepting his resignation,” Mitra asserted to Goal.
Dutta has been replaced by veteran club member Kashinath Das, who formerly oversaw Mohun Bagan’s Hockey team and infrastructure.

"I do not know how a resignation which has formerly been rejected can be accepted at a later date,” Dutta told yesterday before adding, “I was not even informed of today's meeting. Therefore, I mailed Anjan Mitra to know the reason behind it.”

He also requested the secretary to review the decision and reinstate Dutta to his former designation at the club.
In the press conference attended together by all of the above-mentioned officials earlier this month, all of them unanimously agreed that Bagan’s development was in everybody’s best interest. Less than a fortnight later, the statements made that day have proved to be a façade of warring factions in the club.
