The club's attempts to seek redressal on the matter from the AIFF have proved futile so far.
The AIFF and I-League clubs are at loggerheads on a varied number of issues. The situation has escalated, as recent reports suggest that last season's I-League champions Chennai City FC have still not received their prize money, worth ₹1 crore for winning the league.
"We won the I-League three months ago, but are yet to get our prize money. We sent a letter to the AIFF three weeks ago asking them for an update, but have not heard from them yet," Rohit Ramesh, the club's owner, told Sportstar.
It is not the first time though that the AIFF has made the I-League champions wait for their cash-prize for so long. Minerva Punjab were champions the season before last and didn't receive the cash prize until they threatened the apex body with boycotting the Super Cup.
Speaking on the matter, Minerva Punjab owner Ranjit Bajaj explained, "We sent them a letter saying that we would pull out of the Super Cup due to a lack of funds. They gave us the prize money within the next three days." Aizawl FC were also made to wait for almost four months to receive the cash-prize in 2017.
Apart from champions Chennai City, clubs such as Minerva Punjab and Gokulam Kerala are also yet to receive their subsidies of ₹15 lakh for the season. Gokulam are also yet to receive the reimbursement of floodlight charges.

According to Sportstar, a senior source at Indian football's governing body hinted that it could be "due to a paucity of funds."
