The Snow Leopards have further bolstered their attack with the signing of the Englishman.

I-League outfit Real Kashmir have successfully signed Kallum Higginbotham from Scottish second division side, Dunfermline Athletic for an undisclosed fee. The same was announced by the club on their official Twitter handle.

The 30-year-old is primarily a winger, but can also play as a striker. Higginbotham started his career at Rochdale and has played for various clubs around the United Kingdom, mainly in the lower divisions in England and Scotland.

His most notable spells include featuring for the likes of Huddersfield Town, Motherwell and Kilmarnock, before eventually joining Dunfermline Athletic, where he played for three seasons, scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists in 86 appearances.

The signing comes as a real signal of intent from the club who struggled for goals in the recently-concluded season of the I-League. The Kashmir-based outfit finished third in the final standings and only managed to score 25 goals in 19 matches played, which was the lowest among the top seven clubs. They were favorites to the title at one point, but a lack of quality upfront cost them dearly in the end.

Securing the services of Kallum Higginbotham is a clear indication that the club has identified their shortcomings and are willing to improve on them. The Englishman will provide an interesting outlet on the wings and can also put a shift in as a striker for the gaffer, David Robertson.

Losing Surchandra Singh to Mumbai City FC could also be one of the reasons behind the move, as the club look to replace the outgoing midfielder. Real Kashmir are etching a beautiful story by coming from a war-torn atmosphere and yet playing sensational football much to the delight of the locals.

They already have decent foreign talents at their disposal in the likes of Mason Robertson and Abednego Tetteh. With the recruitment of yet another experienced player in Higginbotham, it will be interesting to see how the tactician manages to get them playing as a unit, along with the local talent at hand.
